Intro

is the second and final boss of Wing 2. He has 1 pre-event. His boss fight has 4 phases, with different weather and mechanics in each phase.

You use the following Masteries and mounts:

  • Masteries: (everyone).
  • mounts: N/A (released before Path of Fire).

has no dedicated tank for movement and attacks. He generally follows the furthest player from him. Certain attacks always target a specific player until they die, indicated by a red crosshairs icon over their head.

  • The first target is the first player who entered the room.

2 squad compositions:

  • (more common) No or . Bring condition-cleanses like .
  • (less common) 2 or for two 5-man boon generators (). No other sources are needed, but an source is still needed.

All players must be able to quickly use their SAK (special action key) during the fight, for dropping .

Bring CC and reflects (, , ).

If you cannot see the Spirits in Phase 4, increase your Character Model Limit in settings until you can.

(Envoy I) : drops .

(Envoy I) : After killing , walk into one of the room's fountains. Used to create .

Pre-Event: Killing Bandits

Kill bandits, so you can go into arena.

After Bandit Trio, go to the platform where you started the fight.

  • To go to the platform, /gg or use a on a launchpad.

Glide into the , going north.

  • (Hidden Chest) Glide into the tree to the right. After looting, glide to the nearby Ley Rift.

Go up the path, ignoring the Bandit Snipers.

At the top of the hill, kill the bandits.

Go further, and then kill more bandits.

Go straight until you’re at a tent, and kill the bandits.

Turn around. Go back, turning right.

Go up the stairs, jump down, and then go right, through the archway.

To the right, kill bandits at the Asura Gate.

Turn around. Kill the bandits near the stairs.

When all bandits are dead, go up the stairs, into arena.

  • If you can’t go in, check “Bandits remaining:” in your area objectives, and look for living bandits.

Boss: Matthias Gabrel

Phase 1 (100% to 80%): Snowstorm

You start in a round room, with 4 fountains around the room. Wait near the southeast fountain ().

  • Waiting by the southwest fountain () is common, but bad for Blood Sacrifice! is more likely to move toward the Blood Sacrifice altar, which makes lingering AoEs and other attacks aimed at hit the targeted player. If they're from condition DPS, it's easy to accidentally kill the targeted player!
  • When you start from the southeast fountain (), is less likely to move toward the Blood Sacrifice altar. Lingering AoEs or other attacks are less likely to hit the targeted player.

To begin the fight, move close to , aggroing him.

  • You have 10 minutes to kill , or he enrages (+200% outgoing damage). He also stops using Blood Sacrifice.

In Phase 1, has:

  • : Every 30 seconds, raises his hand, creating a red bubble around him. He gets and starts shooting projectiles at a targeted player until they die. While has , he’s to power and condition damage. Conditions can still be applied. Cooldown starts when is removed.
  • : During , spins his staff in front of him, and then fires a large ball of energy in front of him. Damages players for 50% health, but often hits multiple times, them.
  • Blood Sacrifice: Every 45 seconds, a random player is teleported into the room’s center, becomes hostile, and gains a 2,500 . If not broken in 10 seconds, they die.
  • : Every 30 seconds, a random player gets an AoE that follows them, causing and damage. Removed by clean Forsaken Thicket Water fountains.
  • : leaps into the air. Upon landing, he fires ~15 shards from his hitbox. Damages the target, but also gives them the boon (+10% outgoing damage).

The weather is set to . Its effects are:

  • Damage every 3 seconds.
  • every 10 seconds.
  • Icy Patches spawn around the room. Touching them causes for a few seconds. Be careful around them, as the AoE is smaller than the hitbox. Cannot be damaged, but is removed by applying .
  • Reduced movement speed.

When the fight begins, uses . Use reflects to strip his stacks of . Once it’s removed, DPS him.

To avoid , move beside/behind or .

Every 45 seconds, a random player's chosen for Blood Sacrifice.

Stopping Blood Sacrifice ("Sacrifice")

Quickly CC the chosen player's . Don't kill them while you're CCing.

When someone's about to be sacrificed, a large red arrow appears over their head, and "[character name] is about to be sacrificed" appears in the middle of your screen.

The sacrificed player is teleported to the center of the room, becoming hostile and gaining a 2,500 . CC them quickly, or they die after 10 seconds.

Be careful not to kill the sacrificed player! They take reduced power damage, but take full condition damage.

Removing Corruption (non-SAK poison, "fountain/well poison")

    When you get , look around for a fountain that’s blue, not red. Run into a blue fountain, turning it red and removing .
  • Your screen edges turn yellow, there's a noise, and "You are corrupted." appears in the middle of your screen and chat box. You also have a small dark green skull above your head and a dull orange AoE.
  • Red fountains don’t remove !
  • Remember as: "wash your dirty feet (dull orange AoE) in the clean (blue) fountain".

When uses , do not reflect the projectiles! If reflected, gets +150% increased damage!

  • The projectiles can be safely absorbed.

At 80%, the weather changes to , and Phase 2 begins.

Phase 2 (80% to 60%): Heat Wave

Phase 2 is the same as Phase 1, except with instead of , and instead of .

  • : During , every 10 seconds, a random player gets a green skull above their head and a SAK. Use the SAK to drop a slowly-expanding AoE that causes very high damage. Automatically drops after 8 seconds or when you .

The weather is now . Its effects are:

  • every 10 seconds to non-moving players.
  • Fiery Tornadoes spawn and freely move around the room. Sucks in and traps players, damaging them for a few seconds. On release, causes .

Removing Unstable Blood Magic (SAK poison, "poison")

When you get , drop it between the fountains, near the wall. The AoE expands for a long time.

  • You have a large light green skull above your head and a SAK.
  • Placing it between the fountains and away from the squad allows players to move safely around the room.
  • Remember as: "if you need to vomit (big icon over head), do it away from people (between fountains, near wall)".

To avoid getting stacks of , keep moving.

  • using fountains to remove
  • not reflecting

At 60%, the weather changes to , and Phase 3 begins.

Phase 3 (60% to 40%): Downpour

Phase 3 is the same as Phase 2, except with instead of , and instead of .

  • : During , 5 random players get expanding red AoEs that follow them. Explodes, causing light damage to the owner, but heavily damaging other players.

The weather is now . Its effects are:

  • 5 stacks of every 5 seconds.
  • When moving, you gain stacks of . At 10 stacks, you become . Moving while causes . stacks cannot be cleansed.
  • Storm Cloud: Spawns at the room’s edge and moves around in a circle. Causes a significant amount of damage and increases stacks even when you’re not moving.

When you get , spread out. As long as AoEs aren’t overlapping the actual players, AoEs can safely overlap each other.

Cleanse the . It reduces healing.

stops from causing . If you don’t have , try to limit moving. Wait for to disappear.

At 40%, turns into an abomination, the weather starts rapidly changing, and Phase 4 begins.

Phase 4 (40% to 0%): Abomination

In Phase 4, stops using Blood Sacrifice, some of his attacks are empowered, the weather changes every 30 seconds, and Spirits run through the room.

can now use and during all weather types. They are also more powerful:

  • : pulls his hands together, behind his shoulder, and then fires a large ball of energy.
  • : All players are targeted with AoEs that follow them.

However, still only happens during .

Every 30 seconds, the weather changes. The empowered effects are:

  • During , more Fiery Tornadoes spawn.
  • During , an extra Storm Cloud spawns in the center of the room.

When Phase 4 begins, becomes , uses , and then the squad. The can be or blocked.

During Phase 4, Spirits spawn and run across the room. Above 20%, only one spawns. Below 20%, two spawn.

  • Spirits: Spawn at the room’s edges and slowly run to the other side. Touching their AoEs causes a massive amount of damage. Can be blocked. Cannot be or .

Keep fighting , following the rules for each weather type, until dies.

When dies, the fight ends.

Summary

Pre-Event: Killing Bandits

From Bandit Trio's starting platform, glide north, through . Go up the path, ignoring the Bandit Snipers. Kill bandits at the top of the path. Go straight until you're at a tent, killing all bandits. Turn around, go right, jump down, and then go right, through the archway. Kill bandits to your right and your left. When all bandits are dead, go up the stairs to arena.

  • After killing Bandit Trio, to go to the platform, /gg or use a on a launchpad.

Phase 1 (100% to 80%): Snowstorm

Reflect , , CC the Blood Sacrifice, go to a blue-watered fountain to remove , and don’t reflect . Stay out of Icy Patches. DPS to 80%.

  • Begin the fight by moving close to .
  • When the red dome of appears, reflect the to remove it.
  • Dodge to avoid .
  • When someone’s targeted from Blood Sacrifice, CC the 2,500 before they die (from damage or after 10 seconds). Be careful not to kill them!
  • When you have the red-ringed AoE of , go into a blue-watered fountain to remove it.
  • Don’t reflect !
  • Stay out of the Icy Patches.
  • At 80%, the weather changes.

Phase 2 (80% to 60%): Heat Wave

The same as Phase 1, but with instead of . The weather is now . DPS to 60%.

  • Use the SAK to drop between fountains, at the room’s edge.
  • Keep moving to avoid getting stacks of .
  • Avoid the Fiery Tornadoes freely moving around the room.
  • At 60%, the weather changes.

Phase 3 (60% to 40%): Downpour

The same as Phase 2, but with instead of . The weather is now . DPS to 40%.

  • When you have , move away from other players.
  • If you don’t have , try not to move, to avoid getting at 10 stacks of .
  • Avoid the Storm Clouds moving around the room’s edge.
  • At 40%, transforms and the weather starts rapidly changing.

Phase 4 (40% to 0%): Abomination

Uses all mechanics and skills from previous phases, but with empowered attacks, changing weather, and Spirits. DPS until he dies.

  • can be used in all weather types.
  • affects all players.
  • During , more Fiery Tornadoes spawn.
  • During , an extra Storm Cloud spawns.
  • Avoid Spirit AoEs. Spirits spawn at the edges of the room and slowly run to the other side.

Common Mistakes

  • Absorbing or not reflecting to strip .
  • With , staying with the squad.
  • Not dropping between fountains, at the room’s edge.
  • Reflecting .
  • During Blood Sacrifice, not CCing the sacrificed player quickly enough.
  • During Blood Sacrifice, killing the sacrificed player while CCing them.
  • During , not spreading out to avoid other players.
