S Tier

These builds are a must have in a competitive squad. We highly recommend prioritizing these specializations for competitive fights if you are able to.

Firebrand is a Primary Support offering excellent access to a large range of boons. It trades the specific utility from Mesmer builds like Chronomancer to increase our Crowd Control output significantly. This specialization also excels at Breaking Stun from allies in the squad, making it a highly prized and solid pick for competitive fights where movement is key.

Druid is an exceptionally strong Secondary Support. Its consequent access to Ranged Heal and Condition Removal makes it a reliable choice for maintaining squad health. If the fight turns against you, provides a critical recovery tool to ease pressure on our squad. This really impactful elite skill is a primary reason Druid is the most popular healer in the meta; ensure you coordinate its use efficiently with your squad!

Troubadour functions as a versatile boon provider capable of filling any of the three support roles. It is mostly used as a Tertiary Support due to its Stability output and utility. Troubadour delivers remarkable Heals with decent Condition Removal while largely helping with the overall boon uptimes of your sub-group. Defensively, it contributes to the squad mitigation with multiple Blocks and Distortion access. Its elite skill, , must be used wisely to completely negate incoming hits on your party for the next 1.5 seconds! Ultimately, it brings essential Mesmer utility with the choice of and .

Luminary is another option for Primary Support in the meta. It provides the highest Stability among all Primary Supports while generating unmatched Protection, Resistance, Aegis, Might, Fury and Resolution. Its access to competitive Heal and Condition Removal aswell as its near-permanent Stability uptime completely justify the lack of party Stun Breaks and lesser Quickness output.

A Tier

These specialization remain extremely powerful, though they lack the versatility of the rank above and may underperform in specific situations.

Paragon acts as a powerful Tertiary Support able to output great amounts of boons to its party and squad. It is the best Resistance and Might provider of the meta while also granting additional Quickness, Protection and Stability to help the other supports in its sub-group. also brings massive utility to the squad for Downs ressurection and stomp management. Ultimately, Paragon helps in squad recovery through decent Heal, Barrier and Condition Cleanse output.

Spectre is an excellent Secondary Support offering unique utility for its role. This build provides strong Heal output and massively applies Barrier to its sub-group, making it the best pick to help the frailest Damage dealers survive and shine. Beyond its standard duties, Spectre grants Stability, Resistance and Protection to help our Primary Support keep our allies buffed. It is the only Secondary Support capable of providing as many defensive boons while fulfilling its main role. Lastly, helps rally our Downs to turn the tide of the fight.

Chronomancer serves as a good alternative to the most popular supports in the meta. As a Primary Support, it provides the essential boons a squad needs to compete: namely Stability, Quickness, Resistance and Protection. It is also one of the best specialization to negate attacks thanks to its Block effect from . Additionally, it brings essential Mesmer utility through the choice of and .

Catalyst is a strong Tertiary Support with interesting utility access. Its Heal and Condition Removal capabilities allow it to nearly function as a Secondary Support; it provides a really wide range of boons, while being the master of none. Catalyst's standout utility is its ressurection tool through ; a key skill for assisting Downed allies smoothly.

Renegade is a Tertiary Support bringing massive amounts of Stability and Might as well as decent Damage. It benefits from Ranged weapons with Crowd Control to assist allies generating more Downs. In addition to its stardard kit, it brings an unique effect of Damage reduction to its party through . It now has reliable ways to grant Stability and Resistance to allies with .

Spellbreaker is a melee Tertiary Support with access to Boon Removal. This specialization is the best Might provider in the game thanks to while also providing modest amounts of a wide range of boons. Spellbreaker is a solid overall pick thanks to its utility and great melee Crowd Control output, but we will generally try to pair it with Damage dealers that mostly need Might such as Power Vindicator and Power Necromancer. and should not be underestimated, as they can largely contribute to the outcome of a fight.

B Tier

These specializations are not the best at their role for what they bring, but they still are good niche options with a few drawbacks and unique perspectives.

Dragonhunter serves as a Primary Support applying decent Stability, but overall low boons. This build is ideal for a Commander due to its defensive properties and ease of use. Its particularity comes from its Block effects, notably with , but also with its multiple Aegis applications. Dragonhunter's role is to negate as many enemy skills as possible to lower pressure and allow other supports to keep the squad safe. Similarly to Firebrand, it can output a large amount of Crowd Controls.

Vindicator is a Secondary Support bringing the best Heals in the game, but medium Condition Removal and boons. It is able to bring extra utility using , granting massive amount of Stability and Damage reduction effects at the cost of some of your Heal potency. It is a really good pick to prevent squad players from getting Downed in competitive fights, as its recovery potential is unmatched.

Evoker serves as a Secondary Support applying massive Heals and Condition Removal, but it is unable to offer utility beyond a single Down ressurection and Ranged Crowd Controls. For this reason, it will be difficult to bring in a sub-group as your other two supports must provide massive amounts of boons to compensate. Its niche is quite similar to Vindicator as it will try to heavily carry the recovery potential of a whole squad at the cost of boons generation.

Tempest is another Secondary Support with substential Heals and Condition Removal. It struggles granting offensive boons such as Might but compensates with additional ressurection utility via and multiple defensive boons like Vigor and Protection. Staff is highly valued for controlling the fight from Range, particularly when using offensive Crowd Control or supporting isolated allies.

C Tier

These specializations are not recommended for competitive organized fights, but they are still effective if well played in most unstructured content.

Scrapper is a Secondary Support comparable to Spectre. It has decent Healing, occasional access to Barrier, but mostly is defined by its Superspeed and Might output. It is definitely an interesting specialization for a sub-group or squad that wants to play around maximal mobility while making sure to have the important offensive buff that Might is. Its great access to Range also makes it really convenient to reliably assist players out of position.

Conduit is another Tertiary Support similar to Renegade : it brings squad-wide Stability and Resistance but focuses on Heal rather than on Damage, while also providing party-wide Damage reduction through . Because its kit is quite limited outside of this niche, other options are generally preferred when filling the third support spot.

Harbinger stands as the current weakest Tertiary Support as it lost the ability to grant Quickness. Though, it still massively apply Fury and Might to empower its party. The only interest left for this specialization lies in its vast utility toolkit, ranging from Necromancer's Boon Corruption and Crowd Control to Down ressurection.
