Rotation Tips and Tricks
  • You can cancel the aftercast of 2 skills;
    1. by auto attacking after using it.
    2. by stowing your weapon after using it.
  • If there are multiple targets in range of
you can cast it inside boss’s hitbox for an extra hit per additional target in range.
  • Always use
inside the boss’s hitbox to maximize the amount of hits.
  • Always do your burst combos while the tether of
is active and the boss stands inside a Symbol.

Traitline Variation & Explanations

Heal and Utility Variations
  • You mostly run
due to its short cast time and the big amount of heal you get out of it.
  • is a good choice in well coordinated groups as you can use weaponstow to cancel the animation but still keep the block, however this removes any kind of heal from the skill.
  • is a decent choice if you are lacking condition cleanse.
  • You mainly use
    ,
    and
    as your utilities in raids
  • Your third utility depends on your subgroup. If you are the only Dragonhunter you need a Retaliation source that the Chronos can share with their
    which can be either;
    1. .
    2. .
  • If you are running Radiance - Virtues you do not have to take
    or
as you will be able to maintain permanent Retaliation due to
    .
  • If there are two Dragonhunters then
is the better choice since double
    is enough for permanent retalation.
  • is higher personal DPS assuming the boss will move through the trap, however as seen in our benchmark videos,
is a better choice if the boss is stationary.

Dragonhunter Power

  • You should run Radiance - Zeal here as your Aegis is easily stripped by Blue AoEs or Vale Guardian’s auto attacks therefore making Virtues unusable.
  • can be used to block Blue AoEs to prevent you from being ported away.
  • Use
after the green circle explosion, if you are about to use your burst rotation. If you are simply auto attacking on scepter, for example, save it for the next green. This will ensure that you have your
    buff for each burst.
  • Red Seekers count as additional targets for
, which makes using it a DPS increase. Use it inside the boss’s hitbox every time Red Seekers are in range.
  • can be used for mobility, when moving towards the Blue Guardian during the split phase, or for extra healing during the splits to help maintain your
    uptime.
  • is an AoE heal so it can be used on your allies if they are low.
  • If you have a second Dragonhunter in your subgroup you will have enough Retaliation from your symbols alone. Your third utility will then depend on which strategy you are using for Vale Guardian. If you keep Vale Guardian stationary you should take
, however, if you move him in circles then you should run
    .

Dragonhunter Power
Radiance - Zeal

Radiance - Virtues

  • You should run Radiance - Zeal if you are alone. If there are two Dragonhunters and you are both in the same subgroup then you can run Virtues. This does mean, however, that you need to communicate with the second Dragonhunter as to who uses
after each stomp to ensure you have Aegis.
  • If you are alone in your subgroup and therefore running Zeal you should take
    as your third utility.
  • If you are with a second Dragonhunters, and therefore running Virtues you should take
    as Gorseval is stationary.
  • You can immediately start your burst combo by using
to block the first stomp by yourself with Aegis.
  • During the CC phase you can use all of your skills while under the effect of
but be careful after it runs out as all of your attacks hit frequently and inflict damage to yourself due to Gorseval's retaliation.
  • During the split phase you can use Whirl Finishers in Light Fields to cleanse Weakness.
  • After the split ends, try to be on Greatsword with both
    and
    ready.
  • You can give yourself Aegis to block the stomps with
if your Chronos do not share Aegis or Stability.

Dragonhunter Power

  • Check out the Team Composition Page as Dragonhunter is not so strong at Sabetha and our suggestion would be to relog to another DPS class.
  • You should run Radiance - Zeal as there are multiple ways for your Aegis to be stripped therefore making Virtues pointless.
  • Use
to reach the Launch Pads faster if you have to do cannons.
  • Before going up, make sure you’re on your Scepter set as you’ll want to come back on your Greatsword set to make use of
    to reach Sabetha faster.
  • To destroy the cannon use:
    1. .
    2. .
This should be enough to kill the cannon assuming you have some Retaliation left. If not, you can use
    before swapping back to Greatsword.
  • Use
often to give allies Aegis and to prevent unlucky knockbacks into the flamewall or cannon shots.
  • If you have a second Dragonhunter in your subgroup you will have enough Retaliation from your symbols alone. You should take
    as Sabetha is stationary.

Dragonhunter Power

  • You should run Radiance - Zeal as there are multiple ways for your Aegis to be stripped therefore making Virtues pointless.
  • As Dragonhunter you should always take one Mushroom.
  • If you are doing the first Mushroom, you can precast
from your Staff on Slothasor to give him Swiftness then swap back to your previous weapons set. This will make Slothasor reach your group faster due to him having Swiftness. He gains Swiftness as he is friendly before the fight initiates.
  • Typically, both Chronos will be running Chaos - Inspiration which means that you can still take
regardless of subgroup as Fury will be covered. Make sure to double check with your Chronos otherwise you may lack Fury.
  • If you are in the Warrior subgroup, and your Chronos are not running Chaos - Inspiration, you should take
to provide Fury. This allows the Warrior to take
    instead of
to provide some extra CC. We recommend this because
    is a stronger CC than
    .
  • You should use
on every break bar but in order to be able to do that, you have to take
. This means you lose out on critical chance, so to remedy this you need take
. You can find both of these traits in Radiance. In addition to this, you also need to take
    instead of
    on your Greatsword.
  • If you are the only Dragonhunter in your subgroup then use
once at the start of the fight, so you gain Retaliation, and then save it for every break bar to prevent Fear.
  • Try to be on your Greatsword after every break bar, so you can do your opening burst.
  • Use
inside Slothasor if there are slublings around as a DPS increase. You can pull them into Slothasor if your group is struggling with slubling control.
  • You can also use
to help with add control as the death of the slubling will refresh its cooldown.
  • You can use
    and/or
while jumping to block the spores during Slothasor’s Shake, assuming that your Chronos don’t do it.

Dragonhunter Power

  • You should run Radiance - Zeal as there are multiple ways for your Aegis to be stripped therefore making Virtues pointless.
  • You can take Sword instead of Scepter here as you are mainly cleaving groups of adds.
  • Swap out
    for
    and take
too. The Retaliation those skills grant ensures you get the 50% critchance from
. The extra Stability will also minimize the effects of Fear.
  • resets when an add dies, so you can use it on cooldown to help group up adds.
  • You can also help with add control by pulling them together with
    .

Dragonhunter Power

  • Check out the Team Composition Page as Dragonhunter is not so strong at Matthias as he is highly mobile and our suggestion would be to relog to another DPS class. Typically, Condi DPS classes are favoured here.
  • You should run Radiance - Zeal as there are multiple ways for your Aegis to be stripped therefore making Virtues pointless.
  • You can swap
    out for
so the Chronos or Mirages do not have to run
    .
  • Use
during the storm phase to prevent the knockdown from Downpour and give Stability to the Chronos to share with
    .
  • If your party lacks condition cleanse, you can run
. It also provides a huge burst heal.
  • If your party lacks CC you can save
    and also use
on the sacrificed party member, assuming you don’t have to take
    .
  • If you do run
    or use
for CC then remember to change
    for
. If you do this you need
to compensate for the loss in critical chance. You can find both of these traits in Radiance. In addition to this, you also need to take
    instead of
    on your Greatsword.

Dragonhunter Power

  • You should run Radiance - Zeal as there are multiple ways for your Aegis to be stripped therefore making Virtues pointless.
  • Swap out
    for
    and take
too. The 50% critical chance while under the effects of Retaliation is just too good during this event and Stability prevents the unlucky 1 hour long Fear for your allies.
  • resets on adds so spam it as much as possible and to pull adds too.
  • You can help clear adds by pulling them together with
    .

  • You should use
to help with Shard clearing on the main platform.
  • When other members of your squad are teleported off the main platform, you may want to save your traps to clear the spawning adds.

Dragonhunter Power

  • Check out the Team Composition Page as Dragonhunter is not strong at Cairn and our suggestion would be to relog, ideally, to a condi DPS class.
  • You should run Radiance - Zeal as your Aegis will be stripped by his auto attacks which makes running Virtues pointless.
  • Due to the vast array of complicated mechanics here, your main objective here is to do rotation practice and try to not look pathetic next to the Condi classes.
  • If your party ignores the Green Circles then it is best to save
    to avoid the CC.

  • Use
    or

  • You can also use them during the last 10% aswell, this will help you to have an uninterrupted rotation.
