General Gameplay Tips

General Deadeye Tips

If you plan to Stealth before a boss, use and blast into it at least once with . After that, apply on the target and try to get a free before the Stealth runs out.

If you want to precast skills, you can switch to and use your healing skill to precast then switch back. This is useful on bosses with precast spots like Mursaat Overseer and Slothasor.

On the bosses where you have Rifle on swap, remember that the use of Stolen Skills provides you Stealth when at five Malice stacks to proc .

If you're using don't use it while you are in the middle of an encounter. Only precast it or when you're unable to damage the boss.

Rotation Tips

If the boss is about to phase, save your and for the split. A good example is Vale Guardian where you want to burst the Blue Guardian before the green explodes.

The point of active is to get 540 Power for two and for the ticks. Delay it if needed, either to have sufficient Initiative for two or for if it’s about to come off Cooldown. So it’ll look like: during cast 2 x auto attack chains .

ticks 6 times, with each tick being able to Reveal you during your combo. Instead of counting tick animations, there is a set number of auto attacks that is guaranteed to not Reveal you:

  • If you’re doing after and then do 2 x auto attack chains before your next .
  • If you’re doing before then 2 x auto attack chains followed by .

Stolen Skills

It is worth noting that every Stolen Skill is a DPS increase. While the boss is above 25% HP, you should use them after one auto attack chain with the Revealed debuff. They are a DPS increase because they have almost no cast time and no aftercast while still being more damage than .

The Stolen Skill you get is random but most of them have some other benefits aside from just raw damage.

  • and give you boons which are a 1% buff thanks to .
  • , and apply conditions which are a 2% buff thanks to .
  • and apply damaging conditions.
While most of these are already provided by other classes, some of them aren't always permanent. For example, if you get then you can time it before you use your combo to get Resistance from it. This applies to and as well.

When you have five Malice stacks, your Stolen Skill also Stealths you. This is useful when the boss is under 25% HP as you can do two to get five Malice, then use your Stolen Skill to Stealth into . Try to pair this combo with the active.

Heal and Utility Variations

  • is your main heal and you will be using it most of the time due to how well it keeps up Scholar.
  • has a low cast time, almost no aftercast and heals for a lot. It's useful when you need healing but can’t attack anything. A good example of when to use this skill is River of Souls when you're going in the forward group.

Spirit Vale

Vale Guardian 22,021,440 687 140 2,000

General Deadeye Tips

If you’re doing mid strat, remember that casting while Vale Guardian is Invulnerable does work but you won't get a Stolen Skill. This is important in the last phase as you will want a Stolen Skill to do the rotation.

If you’re doing edge strat, having Pistol / Pistol on swap is advised. You can then start on it while Vale Guardian is running to the edge in the first and second phases.

If you are close to phasing, save and for the Blue Guardian as it has to die before the green circle explodes.

If you get assigned on green circle duty, equip Pistol / Pistol on swap so you can keep doing damage while ranging.

Only one is needed for the Green Guardian. Coordinate with the other Power Deadeyes as to who takes it. If you have more than enough CC then obviously this won’t be needed and everyone can take .

Only one is needed if you are following the Team Composition that we recommend.

Gorseval the Multifarious 21,628,200 1,374 250 4,500

General Deadeye Tips

It’s really recommended to use due to almost 100% Scholar uptime at Gorseval.

If your squad doesn't stealth before running to Gorseval, you can consider taking Pistol - Pistol to do some DPS as you run in.

During the split you will be meleeing the Charged Souls which means you will be getting Weakness ticks quite often. Time your combo between the Weakness ticks.

Xera 22,611,300 1,374 48 2,000

General Deadeye Tips

Do a good rotation since you are only here for your DPS.

To the Shards, face them the following way, depending on their side:

Left side
Right side

Have a Rifle on swap for shards. If you’re clearing shards during the fight then make sure neither Xera nor the adds are bodyblocking your projectiles. Your refreshes once the shard is destroyed, so use it on each of them.

Remember that you can use your Stolen Skill once you’re at five Malice to Stealth and proc .

First Phase

Xera's breakbar might line up with your and combo. If that happens, delay until the CC phase is over. This is due to Xera taking considerably less damage while her breakbar is up.

The normal strat is to tank Xera in mid and not move at all until 50%. If you have low squad DPS then the tank will move to 3 then back to mid. In some rare cases when that’s still not enough you will have to clear to 1 after mid.

Second Phase

The tank will stay mid at the start then move to 5. The normal strat is to camp at 5 until Xera is dead but this only works with good DPS. If your squad DPS isn't high enough then shards will start spawning before Xera is dead and the tank will have to move to mid again.

After mid you will have to clear to 1. If the boss is still not dead at 1, the tank will move back to mid yet again where hopefully Xera will die. If Xera is still not dead, you will have to clear to 2 and if she's not dead after that it will definitely be dead once you finally move back to mid.

General Deadeye Tips

For the first Unnatural Signet open up with two auto attack chains normal opener with . The reason for this is that you want to aim for three under Unnatural Signet.

When you're teleported up, don’t waste your on Saul, save it for Deimos after.

If your squad is sacrificing someone at the last teleport and it ends up being you, just run around the edge in a circle while up there to avoid getting hit. The Regeneration left from your Druid should be enough to keep you alive assuming you don’t get hit at all by Saul. You can also spam your to help keep your health up.
