Intro

is the third boss of Wing 4. It has 1 pre-event. The boss fight has 3 main phases and 2 mini-boss phases.

You use the following Masteries and mounts:

  • Masteries: None (everyone).
  • mounts: N/A (released before Path of Fire).

Bring lots of CC for and Spears of Aggression/Revulsion.

uses for tanking. The first tank is the closest person to when the fight begins. After , the tank is always the player furthest from .

There are 2 tanking strategies:

  • dedicated tanks: 1 to 2 players always get , first by being the closest to when starting the fight, and then the furthest when ends. Non- players stay close to , while the players make sure to be the furthest away.
  • no dedicated tanks: Anyone gets , and then tanks until someone else gets .

1 special role:

  • pusher: During mini-boss phases, or into , and then him. Normally the with a Longbow and .

(Envoy II) : Use the before the fight, get hit by , and then survive the fight.

Pre-Event: Opening the Door

After killing , go west, up the stairs, and to the closed door.

    To open the door:
  • (//other e-spec) Use the door. Click on the -only option, skipping the pre-event.
  • (other class) Talk to the door to get Gift of True Sight. Search Rubble for keys, and then return to the door.

    The 4 keys are in nearby Rubble:
  • key 1: Looking at the door, go right, and then look east. The Rubble is next to the wall. (If you can't use the Rubble, go down the stairs, and then return.)
  • key 2: Go down the nearby stairs. The Rubble is next to the Ley Rift.
  • key 3: Northeast of arena. The Rubble is next to an arena tile.
  • key 4: South of arena. Jump down. The Rubble is next to the tunnel.

    After using each Rubble, return to the door. Use the door again, clicking on each option to use your keys.
  • When you search Rubble, nothing happens, but you get the key from the Rubble.
  • Players can use their keys in any order, progressing the pre-event together.

When all 4 keys have been used (or when a opens the door), the door to arena opens.

Boss: Samarog

Main Phase 1 (100% to 66%)

You start outside of an arena surrounded by spears.

The fight begins when you go into the arena.

  • You have 11 minutes to kill , or it enrages (+500% outgoing damage).

The person closest to becomes as the first tank.

  • Make sure to move in together! The entrance is covered with extremely damaging spears a few seconds after starting the fight!

  • : The player furthest from becomes the tank and the target for the next .
  • : Auto-attack.
  • : Constant ticking damage.
  • : A 2-hit in front of .
  • : locks in place before attacking in front of it. An unblockable shockwave that causes . Can be avoided by jumping or .
  • : Every 20 seconds, a large filling AoE randomly appears. When it fills, a Spear of Aggression/Revulsion lands, dealing massive damage.
  • Spear of Aggression: Spawned by , causing massive damage on landing. After landing, it pulses damage and causes and inside its AoE.
  • Spear of Revulsion: Spawned by , causing massive damage on landing. After landing, it pulses damage and causes and inside its AoE.
  • : jumps to the player, disabling them. It attacks until its is CCed or the player dies.
  • : When standing in the spikes around the arena, ticks for extreme damage. Instant-kill when into the spikes.

If tanking, face away from the squad. Move as needed to avoid attacks.

first uses . Use , a channeled block, , or stand behind it. Tank moves to the side to avoid .

It then uses , , and . and only hit in front of . Tank moves to the side to jump over . Everyone jumps over the shockwaves.

  • Jump forward, so the server-side real wave is less likely to hit you, compared to jumping in place/sideways/backwards.

When the large orange AoEs appear on the ground, move out of them before they fill. causes massive damage on impact.

Every 10% (90%/80%/70%, and so on), uses , gaining (can’t be damaged).

Break to save the player.

During , has a 4,500 , and the player can’t do anything. Use CC skills to quickly break , before the player dies.

Keep players alive by healing them.

Other damage sources, like , still hurt the player.

After CCing , it stops having .

then the player furthest away from it.

  • (using dedicated tank(s)) Non-tanks stack tightly inside of hitbox, so it's easy for tanks to get !
  • (if you're a second dedicated tank) To get , stand outside of hitbox.
  • (if you're the only dedicated tank) To get , after , immediately away from .

If Spears of Aggression/Revulsion appear near the squad, DPS or CC them from range.

DPS to 66%, CCing it at 90%/80%/70%. becomes , and charges to the alcove opposite of the arena entrance.

  • Make sure to move out of the way! damages and causes to anyone it runs over!

Mini-Boss Phase 1: Guldhem and Rigom

Move and keep in hitbox. CC or kill any nearby Spears of Aggression/Revulsion. Kill , and then kill .

Clear any nearby Spears of Aggression/Revulsion if they're near the alcove. Stack at (next to the alcove, outside of the spears).

Once is in the alcove, and spawn.

has:

  • : Cleaving auto-attack.
  • : Targets the furthest player from . AoE .
  • : Orange shield around . Buff that redirects damage and conditions to .
  • : When and shields touch, does 10% more damage.

has:

  • : Auto-attack.
  • : AoE used when reaches 0%. Hits players for massive damage. If it hits , it removes shield.
  • : When and shields touch, has 100,000 more health.

and on the player furthest from them.

If you're by , go to .

  • When , "You've been fixated by Rigom." appears in the middle of your screen, and you have a yellow-glowing small diamond over your right shoulder.
  • When is in front of the alcove, it's easier for the pusher to / him into .
  • (pusher) Make sure that stops moving before you him! It's easy to him the wrong way!

If you're by , or have no , stay at .

  • When , "You've been fixated by Guldhem." appears in the middle of your screen, and you have an orange-glowing small diamond over your left shoulder.
  • (optional) To bait , be the furthest player from .
  • To bait the first , while everyone stacks at , wait north of .
  • By keeping away from , can't stop skills (like a pusher's ) from hitting .

When is near the alcove, / him into hitbox. Use (usually ) to keep him there.

  • You can also from . Use to keep with .
  • If squad DPS is good, only needs to be until he "dies" once. After that, he regenerates, and then "dies" again before he starts moving.
  • If leaves the alcove before 33% shield is removed, / him into the alcove, and then him again.
  • If leaves the alcove after 33% shield is removed, be careful when he "dies" and uses ! it!

orange shield transfers all damage and conditions to . When reaches 0%, he uses . If it hits , then shield is removed.

shield reappears when he reaches 66% and 33%. Remove his shield again by keeping with , and then attacking to kill .

When dies, kill .

  • To kill faster, him to the squad, so you don't wait for him to walk over.
  • (using dedicated tank(s)) Non-tanks stack near spikes, so it's easy for tanks to get .
  • (if you're a dedicated tank) Stand in the middle of the arena, so when dies, you get .

stops being , and walks out of the alcove.

Main Phase 2 (66% to 33%)

Like Main Phase 1, but starting with and .

uses as its first attack. It still on the furthest player.

: 2 players get AoEs and a raid message in the middle of their screens ("Choose your allies wisely..."). The big AoE explodes for a massive amount of damage. The small AoE blocks the big AoE’s damage. Both players stack on each other to survive.

When you get , move away from the squad. When the big AoE player is away from the squad, stop moving. The small AoE player stacks on the big AoE player, overlapping the other player's small AoE.

  • The player with big AoE jumps in place, showing "stack here" for the other player.

If you have , don’t stack in front of ! can separate stacked players!

DPS to 33%, CCing it at 60%/50%/40%, and then move out of the way of its charge to the alcove.

Mini-Boss Phase 2: Guldhem and Rigom

The same as Mini-Boss Phase 1, but with .

If you have and get by , move after the wears off.

  • The wears off before explodes.

Keep in hitbox. CC or kill any nearby Spears of Aggression/Revulsion. Kill , and then kill .

stops being , uses , and then walks out of the alcove.

  • : Causes massive damage and in front of . Can be blocked and sidestepped.

Main Phase 3 (33% to 0%)

Like Main Phase 2, but with and .

is used along with its other attacks, sometimes followed by .

  • : Sometimes used after . All Spears of Aggression/Revulsion fly toward , damaging players in their path.

Stay out of the way of and . has red and yellow arrows that show the path of the Spears of Aggression/Revulsion.

DPS , CCing it at 30% and 20%.

At 10%, the player uses /gg.

  • The player immediately dies, so the squad starts DPSing again immediately.

When dies, the fight ends.

Summary

Pre-Event: Opening the Door

After , go west, up the stairs, and use the door. If (or e-spec), use the -only option to skip the pre-event. Else, get 4 keys from nearby Rubble, and then use them on the door.

  • Use the door to get Gift of True Sight, and then search Rubble.
  • key 1: Next to the door. Looking at the door, go right, and then look east. If you can't search the Rubble, go down the stairs, and then return.
  • key 2: Next to the Ley Rift. Go down the stairs.
  • key 3: Northeast of arena. Next to an arena tile.
  • key 4: South of arena. Go down, next to the tunnel.

Main Phase 1 (100% to 66%)

Put raid markers ( and ) on the mini-map for mini-boss phases. Position away from the squad, avoid its attacks, and clear spears near the squad. Every 10%, CC . DPS it to 66%, and then avoid its charge.

  • tank faces away from the squad, moving to avoid its attacks.
  • Kill or CC Spears of Aggression/Revulsion that are near the squad.
  • Every 10%, CC quickly before it kills the player with .
  • DPS it to 66%, and then avoid its charge to the alcove.

Mini-Boss Phase 1: Guldhem and Rigom

/ to , and then him under . Keep there while killing . Once dies, kill .

  • Stack at , and wait for and to reach you.
  • If by , go to , so it's easier for the pusher to / him to .
  • If by , stay at , so can't stop skills (like a pusher's ) from hitting .
  • / to , and then him under . While keeping with , attack to strip his shield. Kill .
  • Kill .

Main Phase 2 (66% to 33%)

Like Main Phase 1, but with . starts with . CC every 10%. DPS it to 33%, and then avoid its charge.

  • (player with big AoE) Move away from squad, and then jump in place.
  • (player with small AoE) Stack on big AoE’s player, overlapping the other player's small AoE.
  • Player with big AoE jumps in place, which means "stack here" for the other player.

Mini-Boss Phase 2: Guldhem and Rigom

Like Mini-Boss Phase 1, but with .

Main Phase 3 (33% to 0%)

Like Main Phase 2, but with and . Avoid attacks. CC at 30% and 20%. At 10%, the player uses /gg. DPS until it dies.

  • Avoid the AoE arrows of the returning Spears of Aggression/Revulsion.

Common Mistakes

  • Getting into the spears around the arena.
  • Getting into Spears of Aggression/Revulsion.
  • Not jumping over .
  • During , not CCing before the player dies.
  • Not moving out of the way of , , and .
  • For , not moving away from the squad.
  • For , big AoE moving in front of , so its attacks hit players, keeping their small AoEs from stacking.
  • For , small AoE not stacking on big AoE's inner small AoE.
