Intro

is Wing 3's first boss. Its 3 main phases have 3 repeating sub-phases, with collection phases at 66% and 33%.

You use the following Masteries and mounts:

  • Masteries: None.
  • mounts: N/A (released before Path of Fire).

Bring lots of CC for .

uses -based tanking.

  • doesn't hit hard, so the tank's only job is to move it.

White projections use -based tanking.

  • White projections don't hit hard, so players only need to move them through (for killing) or away from the other white projection (to prevent merging).

During the Exposed Core sub-phase, squads split into groups for the different green AoEs. A common strategy is:

  • north group (at ): all DPS and the player
  • southeast group (at ): alacrity and tank
  • southwest group (at ): heals and offheals or (if no offheals) heals and banners or (if no banners) heals and 1 DPS
  • if banners is at , then any DPS replaces the non-DPS
  • if banners is not at , then banners replaces non-DPS

1 special role:

  • pusher: Closes rifts by attacking core to move it, while keeping it away from enemies. Usually the .
  • If the pusher is "solo", no other players need to help move the core.

(non-solo pushing) To help the pusher, bring / (usually ) to help move the core to rifts.

(Envoy I) For the , use before opening .

  • drops once per raid reset.

Main Phase 1 (100% to 66%)

After completing , go through the courtyard to arena.

You start at the edge of a circular room, surrounded by statues.

The fight begins when you get close to , aggroing it.

  • You have 10 minutes to kill , or it enrages (+200% outgoing damage).

main phases have 3 repeating sub-phases:

  1. Xera's Embrace: Kill 2 white projections on to make its appear. CC the .
  2. Exposed Core: 2+ players stand in each of the 3 green AoEs.
  3. Ley Rifts: Pusher moves core into rifts, while keeping it away from enemies.

Sub-Phase 1: Xera's Embrace

Kill 2 white projections on , making its appear. CC it.

During the Xera's Embrace sub-phase, has:

  • Gaining Power: Every minute, damage increases (power damage +10% and condition damage +3%). Stacking buff.
  • : Fight begins with 2 stacks. Removed by killing white projections near . When both are removed, appears.
  • white projections: 2 white projections spawn from statues on opposite sides of the room, onto players. White projections merge into larger red versions that steal boons and deal significant damage.
  • : jumps into the air, making a big red AoE on the ground, and then lands for a 3-second and moderate damage.
  • Crimson/Radiant Phantasms: Phantasms with colored icons over their heads spawn in the room. All players get a red/white icon over their heads. If not killed quickly by the same-colored players, they explode for massive damage.
  • : Large filling AoEs that follow players. 20% player health, +20% more damage for every AoE that overlaps players.
  • : Used at <75%. A light pink AoE appears under , and orange AoE slices rotate around the room. The light pink AoE deals , , and ticking damage. The rotating orange AoE slices deal , , and a small amount of damage. Gains another slice every 25%, for 3 slices at <25%.

The tank moves to the east, next to the statues. When a nearby statue starts glowing white, move to it.

Kill white projections on . Don't let their white AoEs touch each other!

The room is surrounded by giant statues. 2 white projections spawn from white-glowing giant statues on opposite sides of the room. They have names like "Olsen the Elder".

When white projections die, a green AoE briefly appears. If the AoE touches , it removes a stack of .

The white projections on random players, connecting to them with white lines. They slowly walk toward the players.

  • Stand on the opposite side of , making white projections move through it to reach you. Cleave/kill them easily on .

If the white projections' white AoEs touch each other, they ignore the players, moving toward each other instead.

  • If the close white projection won't die before the white AoEs touch, the player with the further white projection moves away from the squad, keeping the white projections apart.
  • After the close white projection dies, the second player also moves through , so the further white projection dies near it.

When the white projections touch, they merge into a large red Insidious Projection.

Insidious Projections:

  • cause large amounts of damage
  • steal boons
  • cause
  • don't remove on death

Even one Insidious Projection often wipes the squad. If you get an Insidious Projection, your commander will either tell you to kill it or /gg.

  • If you're killing the Insidious Projection, kill white projections first, to avoid more Insidious Projections!

Don't let the white projections turn into Insidious Projections! Kill them before they get close to each other!

  • If cleave-DPS isn't enough to quickly kill the white projections, focus on killing them before focusing on .

When uses , a red AoE appears on the ground. Move away, use , or .

During the Xera's Embrace sub-phase, the Crimson/Radiant Phantasms and mechanics are randomly used.

Quickly kill the phantasms with the matching colored icon.

Phantasms appear with red or white icons over their head. You also have a red or white icon over your head, allowing you to attack the same-colored phantasm.

If not killed quickly, the phantasms explode for massive damage, downing the squad.

  • and can help the squad survive without , while pre-casting can revive the squad when they .

: Everyone gets an expanding AoE that follows them. Spread out, making sure that no AoEs overlap players when they explode. Overlapping the AoE circles is fine.

  • If with the close white projection, stay with the tank at .

Kill 2 white projections on top of to remove its 2 stacks of . CC its .

When both stacks of are removed, gets a . CC it quickly to stop or the Crimson/Radiant Phantasms.

Kill white phantasms on , removing stacks of . When both stacks are removed, gets a 3,500 .

Quickly CCing stops and the Crimson/Radiant Phantasms from damaging players.

  • If is CCed too slowly, the Crimson/Radiant Phantasms and can explode, despite beginning the next sub-phase.

After CCing , it disappears, and the Exposed Core sub-phase begins.

Sub-Phase 2: Exposed Core

Stand in green AoEs. While standing in green AoEs, kill the remaining white projection.

3 green AoEs with Xera's Phantasm appear in a triangle shape. During this sub-phase, only 1 white projections spawns at a time.

2+ players must be in each green AoE when the AoEs fill, or everyone dies.

The player stays with the DPS's green AoE. If the player isn't DPS, then a DPS replaces them in the other green AoE.

  • If you need to leave your green AoE, tell your squad, so someone can replace you!

After the green AoEs fill, core appears in the room's center, and the Ley Rifts sub-phase begins.

Sub-Phase 3: Ley Rifts

The pusher moves core into rifts while enemies chase the core. Everyone else kills projections.

The pusher moves the core into Unstable Ley Rifts ("rifts") to close them. When all 5 rifts are closed, a Retriever Projection touches the core, or the core touches the red ring surrounding the room, appears.

  • Closed rifts give a stack of , increasing power (not condition) DPS by +75%. Stacks up to 5.
  • Low squad DPS = close all 5 rifts. Good squad DPS = close 2–3 rifts. High squad DPS (or close to phasing) = close 1 rift.
  • If not closing all 5 rifts, everyone goes to the center of the room, stacking offensive boons while the Retriever Projections touch the core.
  • Use and to move the core more quickly.
  • If pusher, disable auto-attack (Ctrl + right-click the skill) and put pet on for better control of the core's movement.

(pusher) After the Exposed Core sub-phase, move to the center of the room. Before you start pushing (by attacking the core), look for an Unstable Ley Rift ("rift"). Push the core straight into the rift, and then push it in the direction with fewer Retriever Projections.

  • Make sure that you push straight into the first rift! If you attack at an angle, it's easy to miss the rift, and difficult to fix the angle as you move to the room's edge!
  • If you can't quickly switch targets to the core, click to target it instead. The "Next Enemy" keybind prioritizes the white projections.
  • If you need to go into the red ring to push the core, make sure you have high health and push the core quickly! The red ring hurts a lot!

(non-pusher) Kill projections and don't hit the core. If needed, help the pusher with /.

  • Be careful with your attacks near the core, especially if the player is the pusher!
  • If you're helping the pusher with targeted / (like ), disable auto-attack (Ctrl + right-click the skill), so you don't push the core in the wrong direction!
  • During this sub-phase, only 1 white projection spawns at a time.

When reappears, the Xera's Embrace sub-phase begins again, and gets 2 stacks of .

If the core was pushed through 1+ rift(s), is . While it's , only white projections spawn, instead of using attacks like or .

When is no longer , if it's <75%, it uses .

  • Don't stand in the light pink AoE! Avoid the orange AoE slices by standing between them, and move between safe spots.

Move to the wall when the first statues begin glowing. Avoid .

The Xera's Embrace, Exposed Core, and Ley Rift sub-phases repeat until reaches 66%.

At 66%, gains (becoming ), moves to the center, and the Collection phase begins.

Collection Phase 1

Collect orbs with your icon's color while avoiding the other orbs. Don't let orbs hit . Heal before explodes.

You get a red or white icon over your head, allowing you to collect same-colored orbs. Touching orbs slightly damages you. No white projections spawn during this phase.

Collect orbs with your icon's color. Avoid the other orbs.

  • Spread out, to make sure that both orb colors are easily collected around .
  • Move into orbs from the front, so you touch the server-side real orbs.
  • You can't collect the other color of orbs, but they still damage you.
  • Put heals at the center, so players are easily healed.
  • (if in squad) uses on . Attack for heals.

Orbs that reach give it a stack of . When the sub-phase ends, uses .

  • Keep <15 stacks to avoid significant damage.
  • At 30 stacks, you instantly die.

After uses , the Xera's Embrace sub-phase begins, with immediately using .

Move to the east wall when the first statues begin glowing. Avoid .

Main Phase 2 (66% to 33%)

Main Phase 2 is the same as Main Phase 1.

  • Xera's Embrace: Don't let white projections merge, and kill them on . Avoid . Kill Crimson/Radiant Phantasms or split for . CC .
  • Exposed Core: Split into the green AoEs. The player goes to DPS's green AoE, with someone replacing them if needed.
  • Ley Rifts: The pusher moves core to close Unstable Ley Rifts, while keeping it away from Retriever Projections. Everyone else kills projections.

The Xera's Embrace, Exposed Core, and Ley Rift sub-phases repeat until 33%.

At 33%, gains (becoming ), moves to the center, and the Collection phase begins.

Collection Phase 2

Collection Phase 2 is the same as Collection Phase 1.

For : Collect orbs with your icon's color while avoiding the other orbs. Don't let orbs hit .

For : Don't stand in the light pink AoE. Avoid the rotating orange AoE slices.

Move to the east wall when the first statues begin glowing. Avoid .

Main Phase 3 (33% to 0%)

Main Phase 3 is like Main Phase 1, but replaces .

  • : jumps into the air, staying there for several seconds. Small AoEs randomly cover the arena, causing 1-second . To remove stacks of while it's in the air, kill white projections where it jumped up.
    • If both stacks of were removed during , returns with a .

      repeats the Xera's Embrace, Exposed Core, and Ley Rift sub-phases until it dies.

      DPS until it dies, ending the fight.

      • If you disabled your auto-attack, Ctrl + right-click the skill it to re-enable it.
      • If you set your pet to , set it to .

      Summary

      Main Phase 1 (100% to 66%)

      After , go through the courtyard to arena. Before fighting, place raid markers and assign players for the Exposed Core sub-phase's green AoEs. To aggro , go near it.

      Move east, and then to the nearby glowing statue. Kill 2 white projections on to remove both stacks of . CC . 2+ players each stand in 3 green AoEs. Pusher moves core into rifts, while everyone else kills white projections. DPS . Don't stand in light pink AoE under or rotating orange AoE slices. Repeat until 66%.

      • When white projections die, a green AoE briefly appears. If it touches , loses a stack of .
      • For , move away, use , or .
      • Except for the tank and nearby white projection's player, everyone splits up for . Don't overlap characters with the AoEs.
      • When the Crimson/Radiant Phantasms appear, kill the colored phantasms matching the icon over your head.
      • When both stacks of are removed, gets a .
      • CCing stops and the Crimson/Radiant Phantasms.
      • If a non-DPS player is , then the player and another player (depends on strategy, but usually DPS) switch places.
      • Pusher attacks core into rifts, while avoiding the Retriever Projections and red ring on the outside of the room.
      • Non-pushers kill white projections while not hitting the core. If needed, help the pusher with /.
      • When begins attacking again, don't stand in the light pink AoE under it or the rotating orange AoE slices around it.

      Collection Phase 1

      Spread out, so both colors are easily collected around . Collect orbs with the same color as the icon over your head. Heal up before explodes.

      • Put heals at the center, so players can be healed easily.
      • Make sure players are healed before explodes.

      Main Phase 2 (66% to 33%)

      The same as Main Phase 1. Move to the east glowing statue, kill white projections, CC , and stand in green AoEs. Pusher moves core while DPS kill white phantasms. DPS until 33%.

      Collection Phase 2

      The same as Collection Phase 1. Collect colored orbs, and heal before explodes.

      Main Phase 3 (33% to 0%)

      The same as Main Phase 1, but replaces . Kill white projections where jumped up. Avoid small AoEs in the room. If both stacks of are removed while it's in the air, CC when it lands. Kill .

      • If you disabled your auto-attack, Ctrl + right-click the skill it to re-enable it.
      • If you set your pet to , set it to .

      Common Mistakes

      • (Xera's Embrace sub-phase) While ignoring the Crimson/Radiant Phantasms or , not breaking quickly enough, killing everyone.
      • White projections' AoEs touching, so they walk into each other, and then merge into Insidious Projections.
      • (Exposed Core sub-phase) Not having 2+ people in each green AoE.
      • (Ley Rifts sub-phase) Having the core retrieved by Retriever Projections or knocking it into the red ring.
      • (Ley Rifts sub-phase) Non-pushers hitting the core.
      • (Collection phase) getting too many orbs, killing everyone with .
      • (Collection phase) Touching the wrong colored orb, taking damage without collecting it. (Touching the wrong colored orb does not increase the damage of .)
      • During , standing in the light pink AoE or not avoiding the orange AoE slices.
