There are three key skills to use when learning this build: , , and .

  • F1 is the unique profession skill for deadeye, and grants Malice when attacks that consume Initiative hit or critically hit the target. There are multiple benefits to this:
    • Marking a target will enable traits such as , so always use the skill on your primary target.
    • Malice will allow your Stolen Skill to apply Stealth to you and will empower the following stealth attacks such as .
  • 3 is the dual-wield skill for Pistol/Pistol on Thief and is your primary source of Damage. If all attacks hit, you gain additional Initiative to use this skill more often. Set this skill to auto-attack with Ctrl + 2 instead of .
  • is a utility skill unique to Deadeye: it removes your Malice, refreshes , and grants Initiative, with additional Initiative for each stack of Malice you had. This will allow more shots of to fire and can be used to quickly refresh Initiative. With two Charges, use this skill as often as needed to keep on the offensive.

Putting this all together, the basic roation is:

  1. Use off Cooldown.
  2. Auto Attacks on your target!
  3. After 2 or 3 casts, when you have 5 Malice, use your F2 Stolen Skill and manually press 1 while Stealthed for .
  4. Use to gain Initiative as needed if misses or to reset as needed.
When you are ready, add in the various options below for increasing overall damage.
Assassin's Signet

passively provides a decent amount of Power, but when activated provides triple the benefit for a few seconds before going on Cooldown. If used proactively, this can be a large Damage increase.

When a phase is close to ending and you can activate at least one , activate to amplify the last few attacks of the phase. If you are using multiple Stealth options and can get two into the buff window, even better!

If you are running the Quickness variant, will reduce the recharge of all utility skills when you F1 by 25%. This will allow you use even more frequently and it will be best to use the skill off Cooldown as will allow you to use frequently.

Skill Options

Your default skills are chosen to allow the maximum amount of easy sustain, but can be swapped out as needed:

  • is a powerful healing skill that will also provide some sustain to your party. It can be swapped for for a small passive heal or for a Stealth source.
  • provides some passive Initiative gain to compensate for missed hits. Swap it out if you need a specific utility for an encounter or for Crowd Control and to generate an extra Stolen Skill.
  • is a monstrous Defiance Break skill on a relatively short Cooldown. It can be swapped for for a stress free Damage increase, or you can check out the Stealth Attack section for guidance on a more active Damage focused alternative, .
Switching to a Quickness Boon DPS

This build can be easily adapted to provide Quickness with a few simple trait swaps:

  • Take in Deadly Arts Trait Line
  • Take in Deadeye Trait Line
  • Swap to to maintain an effective 100% Critical Chance.

changes the Stolen Skill to always be , and is your source of Quickness. grants a second Charge of when is used, and is essential to maintain Quickness uptime.

The basic rotation for quickness deadeye is:

  1. F2
  2. F1 F2
  3. 1 F2

Note that these buttons do not need to be pressed or clicked “fast.” Each cast of provides about 5 seconds of Quickness and 8 stacks of Might for 15 seconds. One full combo of the rotation above is 15 seconds of both Quickness and 24 stacks of Might. Keep on auto-cast to attack the target between Quickness bursts.

Full Quickness uptime can be maintained without any gear changes if the above skills are used off Cooldown. If you find yourself needing some extra padding there are three easy options for extra Boon Duration:

  • Swap a ring and an accessory from Dragon’s to Diviner’s
  • Swap your relic to at the cost of some Damage.
  • Use additional Cantrips to generate more to use. See some of the options in the Stealth Attacks section for some options.
