This page's main purpose is to act as a front for all the information that'd be too long to contain on the build page itself.

How to turn the base build into an Alacrity provider

Tempest Trait Line has access to a trait called , giving 8.5 seconds (baseline) of Alacrity to you and nearby allies. Alacrity is one of the most powerful boons in the game, since it makes your Cooldowns shorter by 20%, which is really helpful in longer fights due to being able to use your high-damage skills often.

Due to the duration of Alacrity provided by combined with frequency of your overloads, you will need additional Boon Duration.

Minimum Boon Duration required to upkeep Alacrity on Tempest is 23%, but the reccomended amount would be 40%, due to your Boon Duration being dependent on health level (), with the additional Boon Duration letting you upkeep Alacrity even when knocked below 90% threshhold for .

The most optimal solution would be swapping some of your gear to Ritualist's stat (assuming you have Ascended equipment), namely:

  • All armour pieces
  • Both of your accessories
  • One ring

This will yield you exactly 40.06% Boon Duration.

There are also some other viable (but worse than Ritualist's gear) ways of getting additional boon duration, such as:

  • Alternate runes, such as or

When running , you'll experience some rotation changes, namely:

  • Longer delay between attuning to an element and overloading due to loss of
  • Being able to fit three in every loop, one when entering the attunement, one right before and the last one when exiting
  • Using Off-Cooldown to upkeep Alacrity
How to optimally set the build up if you don't have Secrets of the Obscure expansion
TL;DR
  • Take as well as replace and with and
  • Use Dagger and Warhorn
  • Rotate between
  • Use thrice and twice per attunement
  • Start your rotation in as following: Swap to

Certain build elements from the main page, such as mainhand Pistol and are locked behind Secrets of the Obscure expansion. Following part of the guide will contain information on how to optimise your build in case you don't have the expansion.

The Dagger/Warhorn setup is much easier to play than the Pistol variant, considering lower intensity as well as much lower complexity due to not having to worry about Elemental Bullet management. That being said, Dagger has its own quirks too, related to how and work (more on that below)

Gear:

  • The best option for DPS weapons that don't require Secrets of the Obscure are Dagger and Warhorn
  • All gear prefixes stay the same; full Viper's, with
  • Use . It is the only viable core relic that doesn't have an on-elite proc, which helps a lot due to Elementals from despawning when mounting up
  • Your sigils change from and to and (the latter to upkeep )
    • Swap out on Scepter tagging set for too
  • is still the best option for food, but optimal utility comsumable changes to the good old
  • If you intend to use stat infusions, take 15 of and 3 of
    • 9 of each is exactly the same damage too, but only if you use
    • The infusions can be from any source, they don't have to neccesarily be +9 agony stat ones

Utility Skills:

  • becomes a viable alternative for , with worse cleave and about the same single target damage as the but with added passive survivability
    • Keep in mind you have to use it 3 seconds before or after another Immobilising attack due to internal Cooldown

Damage vs. Bosses

  • Use your overloads in and as usual
  • Start your rotation in as following: Swap to
  • Rotate between
  • In , use twice Off-Cooldown, at the start and the end of your loops
  • Use right after first
  • Use Off-Cooldown without delaying
  • In , use combo before entering
    • is also really good for ramp-up and upkeeping of
  • Use combo right after after entering
  • Cast twice and once Off-Cooldown after using these for the first time in the above combo
  • Use in only
  • Attune to after it goes Off-Cooldown when casting third

Keep in mind you that for and you have to either un-target the enemy or cast the skills in the centre of the hitbox due to the dashes stopping at the edge of the hitbox, meaning we don't benefit from either's trail effects (Bleeding via or Burning respectively)

How to recover from any potential mistakes/bullet loss

Every now and then, everyone of us makes mistakes, whether it's due to greeding too much or failing to deal with a mechanic, or just messing up the skill order. Following two columns contain all the rotation recovery scenarios you may need to deal with.

  2. Continue your rotation as usual

  1. Next time you visit , use only
    • In case you used Cooldown reduction with during the recovery attempt, refer to the steps from Scenario 3
