Swap to Staff for Breakbars!

  • The primary use for Staff is . It will charge in the direction your character is facing and hits up to 9 times. To maximize the number of hits, start outside the boss's hitbox and position yourself to charge straight through the center of the hitbox.
  • will move you a set distance, so watch your positioning to ensure you don't fall off the platform.
  • While you are in Staff, you have access to other useful skills. is a channeled block; cleanses 2 conditions from your allies and is a blast finisher.
  • Weapon Swap back to Swords as soon as it's off Cooldown.
Rotation & Extras

Often praised as one of the best boon supports, Herald has quickly risen to fame as a build that's easy to learn while providing amazing boon uptime even while you /sleep.

First things first, pulses Quickness when you have 6 or more Upkeep. To maintain Quickness, use the following skills in each stance:

  • In , use , , and .
  • In , use .

There's more to Facets than just using them to maintain Quickness; the skills are multi-faceted and it's important to understand how they work to manage them correctly.

  • The first activation of each Facet has no cast time and can therefore be used while casting other skills. Each Facet costs Upkeep and pulses a unique boon while active.
  • The secondary activation of each Facet is an active skill that consumes the Facet for an effect. Until the skill is first-activated again, it will not pulse boons or contribute Upkeep.
  • is the exception. As a heal skill, its first-activation will cancel any ongoing skill cast, but its consume skill, , has no cast time.

See the Introduction Guide for a breakdown of each Facet and what boon it provides.

Step One - Basic Gameplay Loop

is the consume skill of and provides a buff that increases your damage dealt by 15% for 10 seconds. The rotation is structured to maximize the uptime of this buff by using off Cooldown. has the same Cooldown so the skills are always used together.

Starting in , the full rotation loop is:

  1. Upon entering , use:

  2. Activate and
  3. Filler
  4. As soon as they are off Cooldown, use:

  5. Legend swap to
  6. Filler
  7. Legend swap to as soon as it's off Cooldown.

For now, use Auto Attack Chains for the Filler steps of the rotation. Other weapon skills will be added in Step 3.

Do not delay consuming and as soon as they are off Cooldown to maintain the buff from .

will be consumed in the next step, but for now leave it active. It will always be paired with moving forward.

Step Two - Consume Facets

When used in , extends your allies' boons by 2 seconds. shares the same Cooldown, so both should be consumed before the other Facets come off Cooldown. The loop will look like:

  1. Upon entering , use:

  2. Activate and
  3. Filler
  4. Consume and
  5. As soon as they are off Cooldown, use:

  6. Legend swap to

and do not strictly have to be consumed at the end of the loop. Let their Facet skills pulse boons and Quickness for a few seconds before consuming them. The next step will provide more details on this concept.

Step Three - Weapon Skills

Use , , and off Cooldown, but do not interrupt your Auto Attack Chains.

Filler Loop

  • Auto Chain x 3

If timing allows, use a third in , but do not delay swapping back to .

and have the same Cooldown and should be used together. will replace one Auto Chain in the Filler Loop.

Using a Facet skill in combination with weapon skills will contribute to a cleaner rotation. For example, the second time you use in , you could do for a smoother rotation.

The same can be done with , using them immediately before or after .
