Lead Attack 3 is a good gap closer.

This build has more Stealth sources than it can realistically make efficient use of, thanks to and .

Use whenever convenient to generate . Be aware that this skill:

  • Can interrupt most other skill casts—be very careful that you never interrupt !
  • Can be queued up after .

You can replace with to gain Stealth, but only when striking a target. This is useful for fixing mistakes or to simply delay your use of until an ally comes within range. Use to refill Initiative.

Remember that you don't need to do two combos before using , as this skill cleanses Revealed. The following example can quickly refill Initiative if you're running low:

If you know the boss is about to phase and summon a mini-boss to fight, you have two options:

  • has a 30-second duration but 20-second Cooldown (with Alacrity). That gives you some wiggle room—you don't need to immediately refresh your Mark on the boss whenever the Cooldown is available. If you're running low on Stealth sources, read the earlier Improvising and Correcting Mistakes section.
  • Simply save one Charge of in your opener.

If you're unable to change target, you can just continue doing Spear combos with as your Stealth source. This is suboptimal, but a lot better than resorting to Auto Attacking!

Some examples of target switching include:

  • Gorseval and the four Charged Souls
  • Sabetha, Kernan, Knuckles, and Karde
  • Samarog and Guldhem
  • Deimos and the three Sauls
  • Conjured Amalgamate and its hands
  • Nikare and Kenut (when transitioning to the 2nd and 3rd platforms)

If your target becomes Invulnerable or goes out of range (e.g. Sabetha retreating to her Cannons), don't panic! You can still generate charges of by casting Cantrips. If your target is out of range, simply untarget them first.

Certain encounter mechanics can apply long-duration Revealed, preventing you from gaining Stealth. If this happens:

  • Use to try and escape.
  • If that didn't work, or you don't have that skill, then cry and just continue your skill loop while waiting for Initiative to regenerate naturally.
  • No matter what, keep using your and Cantrips to provide boons via !

Many tank/fixation mechanics in raids reveal the player. While you should normally never get these mechanics on fights with a single dedicated tank, the following exceptions apply:

  • Gorseval: attacking the boss too quickly as the split phase ends
  • Slothasor: random fixation.
  • Keep Construct: fixated by a statue.
  • Mursaat Overseer: attacking the boss too quickly as the fight begins.
  • Samarog: being the furthest player away from the boss when the Defiance Bar is broken; attacking the boss too quickly as the Defiance Bar is broken, regardless of positioning; when the fixated player jumps over a shockwave; getting Guldhem's fixate
  • Conjured Amalgamate: fixated by a Conjured Greatsword
  • Kenut: tank jumps over the shockwave; random chance at either Nikare/Kenut if the tank gets knocked off platform
  • Cardinal Sabir: landing on the 2nd or 3rd combat platforms before the rest of your team
  • Old Lion's Court Strike Mission: getting fixated by a Prototype Watchknight
  • Cosmic Observatory Strike Mission: targeted by the Soul Feast mechanic

inflicts 150 Defiance Break. You can spam this skill, but here are a few tips:

  • If you've just used a Finisher, get to your Stealth Attack to refill some Initiative, then start spamming.
  • Save one Charge of for more Initiative.
  • Simply continue your rotation if the boss is still vulnerable (e.g. Gorseval), but replace Lead Attacks with when possible.

You can also swap your elite skill to . If you do, refer to the Improvising and Correcting Mistakes section to adjust your rotation.

Lastly, you can swap your to to improve and .

Dagger allows a final burst of damage at the very end of the fight.

  1. Setup:
    1. Spear: Build up 5 Malice, refresh , then Weapon Swap
    2. Axe/Pistol: Recall any lingering Spinning Axe from , then Weapon Swap. If necessary, use to build up to 5 Malice.
  2. /
  3. Use to refill Initiative
  4. Use to build 5 Malice
  5. /

There is an incredibly small window of time between using for Stealth and striking your target with . If you cast during this time window, you will convert Malice to Initiative, allowing you to fill time with instead of Auto Attacking. You'll know you were too hasty if you don't get a Charge of via .

Since these rotations don't use offhand Dagger skills, you can use an offhand Pistol. If a last-second Defiance Bar becomes active then you can break it with . If playing with Spear, preferably just stay on that weapon in this scenario to use the much cheaper .
