Rotation & Extras

Power Catalyst is an easy to play but hard to master class. There are 4 primary resources that you need to manage while playing Power Catalyst, namely Energy to cast , upkeeping and stacks, and maintaining Relic of Fireworks uptime.

You will automatically maintain high uptime and stacks just by performing the Power Catalyst rotation fast enough. However, you will start losing stacks and uptime in between phases of a boss, which results in a comparatively slow Damage ramp time for a Power class.

Step One

The Power Catalyst rotation can easily be divided into 3 smaller loops with 2 links between them.

Starting in , the rotation is:

  1. Auto Attack until ~25 Energy
  2. Link 1
  3. Auto Attack until ~10 Energy
  4. Auto Attack until ~25 Energy
  5. Link 2

The swap from to is about 3 full Auto Attack chains.

Energy is gained by landing hits, but cannot be gained while a Jade Sphere is deployed. Spheres should be used in quick succession to allow Energy to be gained again.

Step Two

In this step, add weapon skills to each Attunement. Use each weapon skill off Cooldown in the priority listed below, filling downtime with Auto Attacks.

Priority
1
2
3

and will not be available every loop. Skip those skills if they are still on Cooldown.

Instead of constantly looking at your Energy, use the following guidance to help create a more fluid transition between Attunements:

Link 1

  • When is off Cooldown start Link 1.

  • Use twice before swapping to .

Link 2

  • As soon as all skills are on Cooldown start Link 2.

After , you should have enough Energy for both and . If you find yourself lacking Energy, it is better to delay Link 1 until you have more than 20.

Step Three

Next, add the other utility and elite skills to the rotation.

Use off Cooldown in either or , without delaying any of your weapon skills.

Use twice in if available. has multiple charges and no cast time, so cast it during other skills.

will reset the Cooldown of all your weapon skills in the current attunement. If available, cast in when all your weapon skills are on Cooldown, allowing you to cast them again. The next step will provide more guidance.

Step Four

Now, clean up the use of . When is off Cooldown, should look like this:

This prioritizes the longer Cooldown skills, ensuring that they will be off Cooldown for the next loop.

It is ok to delay if is about to be off Cooldown, but no more than a few seconds. The delay should only be longer if a burst phase is about to come up for the boss.

Step Five

Finally, add Link 3 to the rotation.

Link 3

Due to the Cooldown of , Link 3 will only be used once every 3 loops, and is be a direct replacement for Link 2. The full rotation will be:

Link 1
Link 3
Link 1
Link 2
Link 1
Link 2 Loop

Transitioning to the Full Build

This is essentially the full Power Catalyst rotation. Further small improvements can still be made to increase Damage.

Maintaining the same skill order without interrupting your Auto Attack chains to use skills will result in a Damage increase.

You should also be trying to maintain and stacks while in between phases of a boss. This can be done by constantly putting down your own Combo Fields and performing finishers on them to generate auras thanks to . The full list of effects can be found here.
